As the sponsor for VAccess-MAGIC, SSC of NASA has contributed and gave a good guidence for us to accomplish this regional research project. Following is a general introduction to SSC taken from NASA's SSC website. "The John C. Stennis Space Center (SSC) in South Mississippi is one of ten NASA field centers in the United States. It is NASA's primary center for testing and flight certifying rocket propulsion systems for the Space Shuttle and future generations of space vehicles. Because of its important role in engine testing for four decades, Stennis Space Center is NASA's program manager for rocket propulsion testing with total responsibility for conducting and/or managing all NASA propulsion test programs...."(from NASA's SSC website) As a long term sponsor and a naional and international earth science research, develop enterprise of NASA, ESE has sponsored us a lot of projects to conduct the poineer work in this field. Following is a general introcution to ESE taken from NASA's ESE website. "NASA's Earth Science Enterprise is dedicated to understanding the total Earth system and the effects of natural and human-induced changes on the global environment. The vantage point of space provides information about Earth's land, atmosphere, ice, oceans, and biota that is obtainable in no other way. Programs of the Enterprise study the interactions among these components to advance the new discipline of Earth System Science, with a near-term emphasis on global climate change. Our research results contribute to the development of sound environmental policy and economic investment decisions...." (from NASA's ESE website)
