Technical Committee Charter
The TAC charter is to advise and consent on state programs
and VAccess-MAGIC information products & technology issues, strategic
plans, and related stakeholder needs. The representatives are being
offered the opportunity to participate in the project’s educational,
prototyping and testing program efforts.
The TAC is composed of the Commonwealth of Virginia
and State of Maryland technical representatives from natural resource
regulatory, programmatic, decision support and legislative fact finding
organizations and other relevant stakeholders that represent the diverse
spatial information user communities at the regional, state, and local
government levels. ‘‘Technical Advisory Committee Members’,
presented in the Management Support section below, lists known members,
candidates and their affiliations. Its purpose, jointly implemented
with the project team, is to:
• Determine and prioritize the geospatial/temporal
information requirements that direct the research conducted under VAccess-MAGIC
and its RS data needs.
• Provide insight into current state program
requirements and activities that impact and can be supported by VAccess-MAGIC
activities
• Establish program quantitative performance
measurement criteria by documenting baseline conditions (i.e., current
Commonwealth practices) for satisfying those information requirements.
• Provide a framework for independent assessment
of benefits achieved through VAccess-MAGIC relative to TAC-determined
spatial information requirements. This is expected to be a quantitative
assessment of performance results compared to baseline conditions, as
required by the GPRA, (Government Performance Requirements Act).
An additional function has been added to the TAC this
year because of the expanded scope of effort, the Inter Agency State
Coordinator. That person will address internal state issues, e.g. across
Agencies within the Commonwealth administration.
